Bedroom Farce by Alan Ayckbourne, directed by Taunya Crilly  Four couples and three beds equals trouble! Laughs are guaranteed at the newly renovated ADOBE Theater 9813 Fourth ST. As Thousands Cheer, Music and lyrics by Irving Berlin; sketches by Moss Hart, directed by Hal Simons; Barbara Murray, music director.  This tuneful (with Berlin, what else?) and funny topical revue was a big hit in 1933 and is equally relevant today, a forerunner of Saturday Night Live and The Daily ShowN4th Theatre, 4904 4th Street NW. The Bad Seed, by Maxwell Anderson, directed by Bradd Howard starring The Dolls.  An evening of drama, murder and mayhem as only The Dolls can deliver.  Fri. A My Name is Alice a musical revue created by a wide variety of comedy writers, lyricists and composers about five women doing what they do best...being women. The Adobe Theatre, 9813 4th St NW,  Sept 12 – Oct 12.  Friday and Saturday nights (8 PM) and Sunday afternoons (2 PM).   Tickets : $12 ($10 for students & seniors).  Call 898-9222 for reservations.

The Caretaker  by Harold Pinter, Directed by Joe Feldman, Featuring Joe Peracchio, Chad Brummett, & William Sterchi. The Caretaker deals with the distance between reality and fantasy, family relationships, and the struggle for power. It dives into  the subjects of mental illness and the plight of the indigent. Pinter uses elements of both comedy and tragedy to create a play that elicits complex reactions in the audience. The complexity of the play, Pinter's masterful use of dialogue, and the depth and perception shown in Pinter's themes all contribute to The Caretaker's consideration as a modern masterpiece.
